The desk has reviewed every opener this league has played since 2022, cross-referenced every head-to-head series, and arrived at five verdicts it intends to defend right up until the Sunday scores make that impossible.
One housekeeping note before the games: the desk's own franchise enters Week 1 with an all-time opener record of zero wins and four losses. We mention this now so that nothing that follows can be read as objectivity.
